About the Class
Lecture
This is a 4-hour Comprehensive Lecture for Working Professionals looking to glean all the information possible from their Audition material as quickly and effectively as possible. Emphasis is placed on Script Interpretation through Tim's Technique of "Sherlock Holmesing" the text and Character Analysis. This includes Crafting of the First Moment, Relationships to Persons, Places, Things and Events and Social Dictates followed by Q and A.
On Camera Intensive Classes Information
This is a practical Nuts and Bolts approach to Crafting your work for the Camera. Please bring in actual audition material, past or future auditions that you would like work on as well. You are also welcome to bring in a monologue, scene or scenes from plays you are in or will be doing. We liken Tim's Audition class to going to the gym, so consider On Camera - Personal Training, as it is more One on One. You also have the opportunity to see Playback and get Feedback on your work, which allows you to be more competent and confident in your Auditions and working On Camera. The Camera already knows if you are not clear and specific in your work.
On Camera Techniques that will be addressed
- Direct Eye Contact with the object of your behavior
- Not looking beyond a 45 degree angle of camera
- Never looking away unless you are looking TO something or someone
- Dealing with multiple and off screen characters
- Taking extreme and result oriented direction
- Ice Cold Reading to Camera
- Eliminating Bad Facial habits
- Multiple Takes to allow for understanding how to attack adjustments
Actor/Student Preparation
Make a Copy of your material so that you can have someone in class read opposite you. Keep in mind people in class will also be offering you material to read as well. This is a great opportunity to work on your Cold Reading Skills. Please bring a notebook and pen and arrive early and be prepared to work on the On Camera days.
